In this video, Dennis Hong has set out to build a car for the blind. Not only does he have to overcome the challenge of a blind person actually driving a car, he has to have the blind person actually making active decisions on driving on the road. One question you may ask is, how can a blind person actually drive a car without going off a cliff or colliding with another car. Dennis previously won 3rd place in a contest where they had to create a car that could drive itself. One way he plans to do this is by having special gloves that tell the driver to turn to the left or right, therefore their making active decisions.
Personally I don't think blind people should be on the road driving a car that could kill someone in a blink of an eye. As a student driver I am still learning how to drive so it would be very scary if I saw a blind driver on the road. Along with the challenge of driving the car it would have to be safe enough so that if the blind driver didn't make the right decision the car would be able to correct the mistake.
